WildSnake for SNES

WildSnake

Please stop Alexey

Genre: puzzle - blocks

Publisher: Spectrum

Year: 1994

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 1

Gameplay Notes:

Another ge of attrition. Once you start falling behind it's all over. Snakes drop super fast and accelerate when you move them laterally. Why? The gameplay is incredibly jerky like it's missing half the frames of animation. There's a bit of strategy - mostly that it's best to not move anything. Just let a snake fall straight down. Very forgettable experience. Doesn't feel like it's something I could master. Feels completely random, like I'm not in control in a meaningful way.

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

Exactly one mode - endless

Theme Score: 1

Theme Notes:

Snakes instead of blocks. Ok.

Art Style Score: 1

Art Style Notes:

NES quality. Horrible animation is inexcusable

Audio Score: 2

Audio Notes:

Annoying snake charmer style music with a rapid fire beat going. Not fun to listen to for long periods of time.

Overall Score: 22
