Gameplay

Plays like a dumbed down Street Fighter, which I don't mind. Better simple than complex in my book. I'm looking at you Weaponlord.
Only two buttons, like the original.
Most fighters only have 2-4 special moves plus an all powerful throw.
Plays significantly better than the original. No more sliding around on ice.
Excellent hit detection. Things connect how they should.
Three speed levels are nice and the fastest one is quite speedy.
14 fighters to choose from!

Level Design

Stages have nice animation in the background
Only the versus and story modes but at least you can play as any character.

Theme

Generic but that's not a bad thing. A very Japanese aesthetic

Art Style

Graphics are great. The artwork is a bit cartoony but the characters are creative. I liked it anyway.
Stellar animation and no slowdown despite all the action

Audio

Sounds are nice but blech, I HATE the music in this game. Make it stop!

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
