X-Men
Not to be confused with "trans women"Genre: action - hack n slash
Publisher: Sega
Year: 1993
System: Genesis
Gameplay Score: 4
Gameplay Notes:
Nice movement, if a bit simple. Nice high jump. Punch, jump kick, and use your mutant ability which spends a meter which slowly recharges.
Level Design Score: 2
Level Design Notes:
Typical Western mazes. Wander aimlessly in a huge area that all looks samey. Lots of blind jumps and cheap enemy placement. Ho hum
Theme Score: 4
Theme Notes:
90s X-Men. The only problem is that you can't play as any of the ladies. What gives?
Art Style Score: 4
Art Style Notes:
Really nice sprites. They match the cartoon/comic books of the time. Mind you, they aren't as good as those in Capcom's X-Men games on the SNES. Minimal animation but it gets the job done. I wish they had made the platforms stand out more.
Audio Score: 1
Audio Notes:
Annoying music and ridiculously bad sounds. The sound effects are much louder than the music. My 8 year old son was laughing and mocking the sound effects as I played. Who did the sound design on this game?
