Battle Soccer 2

Fun, but needs a translation patch

Gameplay

Passing works great. You can see where your pass is going and the camera snaps to the receiver who always receives it. They do pass for a second, but it's better than most soccer games. An arrow shows which direction your pass or kick will head and although there's significant lag in changing direction, the clarity is very welcome.
The movement speed is interesting because you've got a star player who moves very fast but most players are rather slow. So you'll be passing from the backline up to your forwards in hopes of getting it to the right guy.
Like the previous game you have special move that can be powered up, but it feels almost random. I can't figure out how to initiate a big kick.

Level Design

Same as the first game. The difficulty levels and multiple playing areas make the game approachable.

Theme

There's no translation patch, so the Japanese menues make it hard to figure out how to set the configuration settings.

Art Style

Improved visuals and some fun animations, however, it's hard to tell which team each player is on because they aren't wearing jerseys or have other defining coloring.
