Gameplay

Almost good. The spped fells great and turning, while overly sensitive, actually works. You can keep your finger on the gas at all times and simultaneously put the brakes on to make it around any corner. However, due to the breakneck speed you have to time this perfectly every time. If you crash the acceleration is so slow that you'll never recover. Therein lies the game's greatest sin. Close, but no cigar on this one.

Level Design

Three modes: Championship, VS, and Free Practice

Theme

Mostly English text on the menus and HUD. Has an arcadey look and feel throughout. Choose from a dozen or more licensed cars.

Art Style

Nice sprites and good sense of speed. Otherwsie it's your typical Mode 7 visuals.

Audio

Remember that baby seal character from the old Mickey and Pluto cartoons? The one that would slap his flippers together and bark "Arr, arr, arr, arr!" Yeah, that one. Well, he provides the tire squeeling sound effect for this game which plays ALL THE TIME. It's maddening. Who cares if the music is jazzy and pleasant? That sound effect will have you muting the game as quickly as humanly possible.
