Hiryuu no Ken S: Golden Fighter

Ultimate Fighter Zero

Genre: action - beat em up

Publisher: Culture Brain

Year: 1992

System: SFC

Gameplay Score: 1

Gameplay Notes:

Plays just like Ultimate Fighter for the SNES. I'm guessing this is the direct sequel. It's significantly between than that game, but the bar was incredibly low. The levels play the same - just go right and kick everybody, but the boss battles at a continuation of the beat em up gameplay instead of the weird turn based battles from the first game. Movement is slow, controls are incredibly laggy, and hit detection is non existent.

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

Walkthrough to the right. Fight a boss. Walk to the exit. The end.

Theme Score: 2

Theme Notes:

Is there a story? I'm not sure. Every level is populated by exactly 3 different enemies so there's little personality here. Oh and the enemies are also the bosses.

Art Style Score: 2

Art Style Notes:

The sprites are drawn well. Kind of. They're horribly animated. Backgrounds are so basic.
