Lode Runner Twin: Justy to Liberty no Daibouken

Not a runner

Genre: puzzle - platform

Publisher: T&E Soft

Year: 1994

System: SFC

Gameplay Score: 2

Gameplay Notes:

One screen puzzle game, albeit with some scrolling and a very useful map. Who finds this fun? Enemies swarm to you like Pepe le Pew. You can dig a hole for them to fall into but they pop out in about the time two enemies can be dropped so if three are after you you're cooked. You're constantly running for your life. You can't jump - only drop - so is easy to get stuck and summarily killed. Object is to collect all the candy and climb the escape ladder that appears. Laggy controls. You move between tiles so the animations between them are cosmetic and it's difficult to know exactly when you can dig holes next to you.

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

Devilish difficulty in the level design. Lots of enemies and they perpetually respawn in the worst locations possible. Yuck

Theme Score: 3

Theme Notes:

Generic cutesy cartooney monarchy setting. No idea what the story is. Has a Bomberman vibe but with human characters.

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

Cute but bland

Audio Score: 3

Audio Notes:

Decent song plays the whole time. As repetitive but no where near as catchy as something like Bubble Bobble.

Overall Score: 40
