Gameplay

Could've been great. Putting is perfect but big hits with the woods or irons are completely horked because you have so little control over your aim! You can only move the reticle to ten fixed positions. This isn't true when using a wedge or putting so I don't know why they did this! It would've been a 4 if they had fixed that one issue.

Level Design

No complaints on the courses and modes, although you'll need some translation to navigate the menus.

Theme

Lovely ambiance. You pick your character and your face shows your current mental state. Your caddy (a hot girl that you pick) gives you encouraging updates after each stroke.

Art Style

Graphics are as good as it gets in a 16-bit golf game. The view when hitting the ball is admittedly a little strange but in a charming way.

Lovely music abounds. Typical Namco goodness

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
