Gameplay

Very easy, owing to the 8 difficult levels and health bar.
I HATE how power-ups are earned by shooting bells until they are a specific color. It's so random and so hard to keep track of and competes with, yaknow, actually playing the game. It almost completely ruins what is otherwise a very fun game.
Your speed is usually too fast but then sometimes is drastically reduced for no apparent reason.
My other complaint is the need to use a second shot to hit enemies in the background, Xevious style. I hate this sort of mechanic but it's only used about 20% of the time so it's manageable.
Two player!
Very little slowdown, if any.

Level Design

Super creative and visually distinct levels. The designers had a lot of fun with the levels and enemies.

Theme

So cute. I'm not sure what's going on with the anime boy and girl in this world of anthropomorphic animals and objects.

Art Style

The screen is filled at all times with well drawn, shaded and animated sprites. Everything is colorful and attractive. The backgrounds are gorgeous, including a pink cloudscape, an underwater metropolis with distorting water effects. Sprote scaling and rotation effects are used on the bosses and other sprites.

Audio

Standard early 90s Konami music and sound effects.
