Spark World

A shocking Bomberman clone

Gameplay

Well and truly a Bomberman clone. This couldn't be more blatant but that doesn't mean it's bad. In fact, I'd say this is on par with the first Super Bomberman in terms of gameplay. It even has some interesting new ideas like spikes on the ground that pop your tires and a repair station in the center that will fix them. The power-ups and everything else about the gameplay is again a straight up rip-off of Bomberman.

Level Design

It's got all the same modes as Bomberman. There's the battle and the story mode. Although the story mode is just a one-player battle mode with bosses at the end. It's less puzzle like Jon the Bomberman story mode.
The real downside of the level design is that the maps all feel very similar. In fact, the placement of the bombable blocks is always the same. You start in the bottom left and two paces above. You are too bummable boxes and to your right, they're three three paces away. On every single level.

Theme

The theme is interesting. It's. It's bipedal trucks and vans and buses and other vehicles. The bosses of each stage are large vehicles like trains and helicopters and airplanes. I guess I just enjoy a break from all of the anthropomorphic animals.

Art Style

The graphics are probably the least impressive aspect of the game. They're not bad, just look very early gen. The backgrounds are particularly drab. Still the designs are cute.

Audio

Music's fine and the sound effects are good. A lot of these games have grating sound effects but these aren't too bad.
