Super Chinese World 2: Uchū Ichi Butō Taikai for SFC
Review #2338
Super Chinese World 2: Uchuu Ichi Buto Taikai
aka Super Ninja Boy 2
Gameplay
Slight improvement over the original. And I do mean slight. It's technically playable but just as repetitive and janky as ever. Like the original, this game has random battles from an overhead few and an RPG leveling system but the battles are beat'em-up style. And they're terrible. Glitchy, unresponsive, and with terrible hit detection.
Level Design
I played for an hour straight and only leveled up to level two and never did find my way out of the first area. I walked down to a little village and then further to find a guru who taught me how to power up, but I swear there was nowhere else to go. That's when I stopped.
Theme
The theme of this game is an obvious Dragon Ball knock off. You're a couple of martial arts brothers up against some shady aliens, invading other planets or some sort of intrigue. But yeah you're space faring Chinese guys.
Art Style
The graphics are a step up from the first game, but only in the battle sections. Sections. The frame rate is still atrocious and the overhead graphics are sub NES quality..
Audio
As in the first game, the music is fine.
