Tetsuwan Atom for SFC

Image: MobyGames

Tetsuwan Atom

Zero Mega Man

Genre: action - punch n kick

Publisher: Zamuse

Year: 1994

System: SFC

Gameplay Score: 1

Gameplay Notes:

Slow, cumbersome, frustrating gameplay. Stupid slow movement. Flying requires a long press of R,L, or X for about 5 long seconds and you can have almost no control of your movent while flying. Your only attack is a weak, short punch. The jump attack is completely useless as it punches downward, making it's reach even shorter than a standing punch. Terrible hit detection. Your hitbox is massive while enemy's are tiny or ill-defined.

Level Design Score: 2

Level Design Notes:

Very little platforming. Levels are underwhelming at best, especially when compared to other games in the genre from 1994.

Theme Score: 4

Theme Notes:

Who doesn't like Astro Boy?

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

Underwhelming artwork. Having played the GBA titles this one looks like an easy and unimpressive NES title by comparison. Enemy designs are good, but things jerk around without any animation. Even your sprite is basic and interesting.

Audio Score: 3

Audio Notes:

Again, disappointing. Sounds and music don't seem to fit the robot boy story.

Overall Score: 36
