Darius MinusGenre: shooter - horizontal
Publisher: Taito
Year: 1990
System: PCE
Gameplay Score: 2
Gameplay Notes:
The constant mashing of two buttons is giving me carpel tunnel. There are no weapons to power up with and the peashooter shot and bombs are no ideal. Enemies also take too many shots. Deaths are even more punishing than Gradius because powerups are few and far between and are lost after a death. Insane difficulty.
Level Design Score: 3
Level Design Notes:
The stages are sooooo long! Enemies are placed to flood the screen with projectiles. The only way to progress is to know exactly where to position and mash those buttons.

Art Style Notes:
I love the designs, but there's little to no variety in the too-long stages. I got bored of seeing the same background and sprites over and over again.
Audio Score: 2
Audio Notes:
Music ain't great and sounds aren't much better. I played this after playing Darius Alpha, which is a boss rush of this game's five bosses. I was hoping for better songs than in that title. I got what I asked for, but it's not as good as I was hoping.
