Eye of the Beholder
I'd hate to see the Basic D&DGenre: rpg - dungeon

Gameplay Notes:
I've never played D&D and this game hasn't made a fan out of me. All controls are executed via an on-screen cursor clicking buttons using the B button. The A button is used to pick up and move items. No other buttons are used. This game would be significantly more playable if the buttons had been used for things like attack, movement, and even menuing. Maybe it works with a mouse but I don't care to try that. You have a party of 4 but only the front two can attack or be attacked by melee attacks. The back line can theoretically use magic or projectiles but I couldn't figure out how to do this. Fights amount to walking up to an enemy and clicking on the four equipped items of the front two party members. Tedious and decidedly unfun, imo The only good feature here is the ability to cheat and scale your stats up to the max.
Level Design Score: 0
Level Design Notes:
It's a claustrophobic dungeon. Without a map. Yuck
Theme Score: 2
Theme Notes:
I can appreciate the Lord of the Rings motif and the customizable party members, but I have no idea what I'm doing here. It just drops you in
Art Style Score: 1
Art Style Notes:
Some detailed artwork of the environment and enemies, but 1 FPS movement and animation. Blech. The screen is roughly split into four quadrants with the top-right showing your party members, the bottom-left showing the directional buttons and textual messages, and the top-left showing the environment you're exploring. The bottom-right is wasted space.
Audio Score: 3
Audio Notes:
Crazy music is awesome but so out of place. Sounds are minimal
