Kiss Shot
Now think...Genre: sports - pool
Publisher: Sega
Year: 1992
System: MD
Gameplay Score: 1
Gameplay Notes:
A Side Pocket clone but with even less precision when aiming your shot. It helps you choose your next target and you can adjust the aim slightly by putting left or right spin on the ball but it's an inexact science. Even the physics don't seem right since balls comes to a complete stop after they hit another one, even at an angle. Just feels off. Still, the game plays quickly and it's a total trainwreck. But not something I'd sink any time into.
Level Design Score: 1
Level Design Notes:
Only two modes (9Ball and Boulard) and no one-player only mode in 9Ball. It's always against a computer or another human player. Not much game here.
Theme Score: 2
Theme Notes:
It's pool. I get a kick out of the message "Now think..." that appears while a computer lines up their shot.
Art Style Score: 1
Art Style Notes:
Even with low expectations this is a poor looking title. Balls are very small and animate horribly after being struck. They seem to be teleporting around the table.
Audio Score: 2
Audio Notes:
The music is pretty dorky but somewhat charming.
