Martial Champion
Konami made a console fighting game? other than TMNT, of courseGenre: fighting - 1v1
Publisher: Konami
Year: 1993
System: PCE CD
Gameplay Score: 2
Gameplay Notes:
Passable, but entirely forgettable. Hard to perform special moves. Lots of difficulty settings. 10 playable characters.
Level Design Score: 4
Level Design Notes:
Three modes: Tournament (story), VS (2p only), and Group Match (a very cool 5v5 battle royale that happens one fight at a time). I really like the Group Match mode.
Theme Score: 3
Theme Notes:
Blatant Super Street Fighter 2 rip-off. You cna just about match up every fighter. The presentation makes up the difference as it's got a great arcade look and feel.
Art Style Score: 2
Art Style Notes:
Disappointing visuals, with small sprites, minimal animation, and uninteresting backgrounds. The character designs are random, and not all that interesting.
Audio Score: 4
Audio Notes:
Music is straight out of an 80s B action movie. It's rocking and fits the fighting genre. An English-speaking actor voices all of the introductions and menus. It's perfectly epic and arcadey.
Overall Score: 55
