Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
Bad as an adventure, horrible as a fighterGenre: fighting - 1v1
Publisher: Sony Imagesoft
Year: 1994
System: Sega CD
Gameplay Score: 1
Gameplay Notes:
It's a 1v1 fighting game with light adventure segments between fights. Slowly walk around a room, click on just the right spot to find an item, use the item in the next room to unblock your progress, and then move to the next room. Boring. As a fighter, it's as limited as could be. You have two attacks with no special moves. It's easy to cheese fights by standing close to the opponent and spam the quick punch. Hit detection is horrible and things are increbily limited. Also, the game has a solid 5 minutes of title screens. Uggh

Level Design Notes:
I appreciate the mashup of genres, but both are executed poorly.

Frankenstein. Ever heard of it?

Art Style Notes:
It's actually drawn well but isn't attractive. I hope you like blacks and browns. Fantastic animation is wasted on terrible character designs.
Audio Score: 4
Audio Notes:
By far the best aspect of this game. Sony did sound right back in the day.
