Puzzle & Action - Tanto-R
WarioWare as a party gameGenre: tabletop - board game
Publisher: Sega
Year: 1994
System: MD
Gameplay Score: 2
Gameplay Notes:
Seems intended to be a 2-4P party game. It's a series of one button minigames that range from QTE games, to memory, to spot the difference puzzles. Each game is explained by Japanese text, but most are understandable without the explanation. They're simple but not frequent enough, which is the main drawback when compared to something like WarioWare.
Level Design Score: 2
Level Design Notes:
It's an endless series of minigames. The gameplay loop is somewhat like Mario Party, such that you stop a 4 sided dice to select between four randomly offered games. This allows you to see repeats or even avoid those you don't like. The games themselves are quite juvenile, seemingly aimed at a very young audience. I lost interest before long.
Theme Score: 2
Theme Notes:
The simple setup is that you're a knight on a quest to rescue a kidnapped princess. Yes, it's Ghouls n Ghosts.
