Gameplay Notes:
Pretty standard setup - adjustable speed, homing missiles to pick up, and a Gradius-style shield. Good stuff, for the most part. My only complaints are the meager weapons variety (there are only a couple worth using) and a severe lack of difficulty. I reached the end boss without much trouble. But then the difficulty spiked to 11 and ended my run. Still, everything leading up to that was a veritable cakewalk.
Level Design Score: 3
Level Design Notes:
Uncreative. Once again, there's little difficulty. Stages are mostly as simple as hanging near the bottom of the screen and moving laterally every so often. There's only one stage that isn't an upward auto-scroll and it's a battleship with turrets. Stages are extremely long and suffer from a couple of long stretches of nothing.
Theme Score: 3
Theme Notes:
Painfully generic
Art Style Score: 4
Art Style Notes:
Somewhere between Parodius and Gradius. Chunky sprites with somewhat drab colors and a lack of effects. Quite a bit of slowdown. despite the negatives, overall I like the art style.
Audio Score: 3
Audio Notes:
Good music that's too quiet behind all the pew pew noises.
Overall Score: 72
