Gameplay

Eh, it's ok. The movement is tight but attacking enemies is a chore, and a boring one at that. Your electricity gun has very short range and enemies run around randomly at great speed and love to pummel you and shoot with impunity. It's manageable but not fun.
There are tons of collectables but they're purpose isn't obvious, although you can get an explanation through a bunch of menuing.
Not bad but doesn't make me beg for more.
The overhead sections plays a bit like ZAMN if you had only one horrible gun, your sprite was way too large, and there was only one enemy who shoots at you with an aim bot.

Level Design

Strange game and level design. You navigate a grid based map moving from one node to the next. You have to first play a simple game of Asteroids to clear the skies then visit the surface to kill the bad guys. Every level seems about the same, and the maps are tiny and repeat after only a few screens, like you're walking all the way around the planet SMG-style.
I tried to stay interested but got into a rut of doing the same thing over and over.

Theme

Silly stuff from Lucasarts. I've never been a huge fan of their work but I can appreciate what they're going for here. It didn't grab me but it's definitely unique. Kind of a Hitchhikers Guide vibe going on.

Art Style

The graphics are amazing, but they don't speak to me at all. So, middle ground here?
Thankfully the plentiful cut scenes can be skipped.

Audio

Some of the music is amazing and the sound design is quite good. Nothing here I'd want to listen outside the game but good nonetheless.
