Brett Hull Hockey '95 for SNES

Brett Hull Hockey '95

Improved passing. So I'll pass.

Genre: sports - hockey

Publisher: Accolade

Year: 1995

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 2

Gameplay Notes:

Movement is greatly improved over the original but animations still take too long which makes it feel super laggy. It's just so hard to get a shot off or check an opponent. Checking is particularly nerfed. Passing works really well. You pass in a direction rather than to a teammate so you have absolute control where the puck goes. Too bad your teammates are seemingly always off screen.

Level Design Score: 3

Level Design Notes:

All the modes you could want.

Theme Score: 3

Theme Notes:

Very EA like. Impressive really. And you can turn off All Michels. Apparently they listened to criticism which they no doubt got from the original.

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

Still a too-low camera but the stories are detailed with good scaling. The field and stands have an impressive pseudo 3D effect.

Audio Score: 2

Audio Notes:

Menu music is terrible. In game crowd noise reacts to the action so good job there.

Overall Score: 48
