Chase H.Q. for TurboGrafx-16

Chase H.Q.

Thanks Nancy

Genre: racing - vehicle combat

Publisher: TTI

Year: 1992

System: TurboGrafx-16

Gameplay Score: 2

Gameplay Notes:

Hit detection is better than Chase H.Q. 2 on the Genesis but worse than Super Chase H.Q. on the SNES. You often drive through other cars but crash into them other times. Movement is ok although it's hard to turn and avoid traffic at the same time. Best to ignore the traffic since going off-road slows you more than crashing. Your goal is to crash into another car a whole bunch before times runs out.

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

They're all the same. The car changes and you get less time each level but the core gameplay doesn't change from level to level.

Theme Score: 3

Theme Notes:

I like the idea of crashing cars, but I'd rather do it in Burnout.

Art Style Score: 2

Art Style Notes:

Poor framerate. Makes OutRun look like a Rembrandt painting. Colors are bright.

Audio Score: 1

Audio Notes:

Impressive voice samples! Ok music but horrible, terrible, no good sound effects will cause you to mute this game.

Overall Score: 34

Review ID: 1443
