Chew Man Fu for TurboGrafx-16

Chew Man Fu

Pac-Man meets Billy Hatcher

Genre: arcade - n/a

Publisher: NEC

Year: 1990

System: TurboGrafx-16

Gameplay Score: 4

Gameplay Notes:

Plays a lot like Pac-Man. You walk around a board and your objective is to roll colored balls onto similarly colored tiles. Enemies wander around and avoiding them is the primary challenge. There's strategy in trapping them so they can't kill you. Or you can just move the balls quicker than the enemies can get to you.

Level Design Score: 4

Level Design Notes:

Creative and fun. Each level is a puzzle with any number of solutions. I love that it isn't a single solution puzzle game.

Theme Score: 2

Theme Notes:

Not a game you'll brag about enjoying. It's a pretty dorky setting. You play as a Chinese Pippy Longstocking.

Art Style Score: 4

Art Style Notes:

Overly cute graphics, but they're undeniably charming. Pretty good for a puzzler

Audio Score: 1

Audio Notes:

Not my jam
