Gameplay

Much improved compared to the SNES game.
Movement is fast but enemies are hard to avoid making the game very difficult. And not in a "that was hard let me try again" way. Instead it's a "what the heck is hitting me" deal.
Very limited ammo.
Hard to aim. Have to jump and angle weird to hit enemies.
Horrendous hit detection.

Level Design

Boring levels (just go right) for a looong time.
Looks and feels like a soul-less Earthworm Jim.
Cheap enemy placement.
Weird, obscure design choices like killing an enemy creates a temporary platform in a river that is otherwise a bottomless pit.
First boss cannot be beat. No idea how to get past the first bloody level.

Theme

Space bruh
Excessive gore is the only real selling point

Art Style

Nice animations but washed out, drab colors and weird sprites
Apes DKC (see what I did there?) with prerendered graphics but looks like terrible claymation instead.
Performance is much improved over the SNES version.

Audio

A couple of nice tracks but even the good ones are composed of the Genesis burps and farts.
