Faceball 2000

Have a Nice Day

Genre: shooter - fps

Publisher: Bulletproof

Year: 1992

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 0

Gameplay Notes:

Good job inventing the arena FPS but why couldn't you invent strafing as well? Crippling slowdown. Same problem as Battlezone - you can only shoot straight ahead which is also the only direction you can move so shoots are unavoidable. Shots only connect at extreme close range so you have to run in which all but guarantees mutually assured destruction. Shooting causes a yellow projectile to appear which covers the ENTIRE SCREEN.

Level Design Score: 2

Level Design Notes:

At least there are multiple arenas. More than SMK battle mode. They all play identically tho so there's no true variety.

Theme Score: 2

Theme Notes:

It's an arena FPS. A one player arena FPS. With smiley faces. Hmm

Art Style Score: 0

Art Style Notes:

Atrocious framerate. Crippling slowdown. Entire screen is covered most of the time. Only uses about 25% of the screen with a massive border surrounding it. Impressive in 1987. Awful in 1992. Unbearable in 2021.

Audio Score: 0

Audio Notes:

Annoying music sounds like a kid banging on a steel drum. Seriously who composed this? Did someone composed? Overly loud and dumb sounds. "Have a nice day" sound bite is funny
