Foreman For Real Boxing
Super Uncanny ValleyGenre: fighting - boxing
Publisher: Acclaim
Year: 1995
System: SNES
Gameplay Score: 0
Gameplay Notes:
Two buttons. Right and Left. No other buttons or controls that I can figure out. Just the two punches. So...the gameplay, such as it is, is incredibly shallow.
Level Design Score: 2
Level Design Notes:
Lots of options for difficulty and such. Career, tourney, and exhibition modes. Not sure why anyone would want to play this for longer than a few minutes but it gives you lots of ways to do just that.
Theme Score: 1
Theme Notes:
Is boxing. And fat man George Foreman takes center stage. No thanks
Art Style Score: 1
Art Style Notes:
There's the Uncanny Valley and then there's this game. The boxers have a prerendered body with impressive animations but they also have a photorealistic head with only a couple of frames of animation. They look like the weird bits from AFV where Tom Bergeron photoshopped his head onto people's videos. It's unbelievably creepy and unnatural looking.
Audio Score: 3
Audio Notes:
Some decent music and sound
