Home Alone for Genesis

Home Alone

Have you had enough, or are you thirsty for more?

Genre: action - platform

Publisher: Sega

Year: 1992

System: Genesis

Gameplay Score: 2

Gameplay Notes:

Different than the SNES version. In this one you set up traps in houses that will be visited by the Wet Bandits. Three distinct activities - ride your motorized bobsled between houses, set traps in houses via a menu and house map, and then platforming to gather resources from a house or to fight the bandits. Typical floaty licensed THQ controls. Jump, shoot (slingshot) Enemies take insane number of hits.

Level Design Score: 2

Level Design Notes:

Setting traps to beat up bad guys is an interesting concept but there's no strategy. The houses all have themes, like a mansion, a futuristic theme, etc. Seems strange and doesn't mask the fact that they're functionally identical.

Theme Score: 1

Theme Notes:

Dumb theme. This can't be made into a game

Art Style Score: 2

Art Style Notes:

NES quality graphics Boring flat stories and backgrounds

Audio Score: 1

Audio Notes:

Horrible sounds and music Music is a single note on a banjo with a single note drum Sounds effects are rare

Overall Score: 37

Review ID: 973
