IMG International Tour Tennis
Preparing to serve, sir! Why are you always preparing? Just go!Genre: sports - tennis
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Year: 1994
System: Genesis
Gameplay Score: 2
Gameplay Notes:
Lengthy load times between points. Drags the game out so long! Laggy swings due to long animations. Generous hitboxes make this far more playable than most other tennis games on the Genesis. Boring. Rallies rarely last more than 3 or 4 hits so I never approached the net or did anything strategic. Extremely fast movement. Too fast. A single fault result in a point. Did they really not know the rules of tennis? Bizarre system for serving.

Theme Score: 1
Theme Notes:
The whole thing feels sterile and stiff. On a close call, for example, the point is recorded, everyone goes to the starting point for the next serve, and then the opponent slowly walks over to the ref. Finally, he starts yelling at the ref with a bunch of gibberish that sounds a bit like a Japanese guy doing an impression of the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes. Then he slowly walks back over for the next serve. It's weird!
Art Style Score: 2
Art Style Notes:
Zoomed in view. Sprites are large and go for a realistic look, but are quite unattractive as a result.
Audio Score: 0
Audio Notes:
Garbled sounds. The announcer sounds like Steven Hawking and the crowd cheering sound like they're on a bad phone connection. Absolute silence while playing. One of the worst title screen songs of all time.
