Gameplay

First person view like a dungeon crawler.
Attack is the default choice so you can mash to finish most encounters.
Somewhat frequent random battles - maybe an average of 10-15 steps.
Not ATB system
Fast movement within towns but slow in dungeons and on overworld.
Standard equip and magic systems.
Battle system requires you to commit to an attack by each of your party members and if an enemy dies then subsequent attacks to the same enemy are wasted. I hate this sort of thing.
By the books JRPG title. High second tier quality

Level Design

Played for about 2 hours. Felt slow going. I was still in a single party. Finally got a companion after a while lot of backtracking and watching dialogue.

Theme

Standard RPG tropes. In this case it's the boy and girl growing up together and discovering they're in love. Like a younger version of the Cecil and Rosa story. Better than most but not perfect.
I feel far less interested in these characters despite all the dialogue. The characters in the intro sequence are far more interesting.

Art Style

Lovely sprites and non battle graphics. I love the chibi style artwork.
Battle graphics leave a lot to be desired unfortunately. There's no background - the enemy sprite and HUD appear directly over the dungeon you're walking in. The enemy sprites are static but shake when attacked.

Audio

Very nice music, although most tracks loop very quickly. Great sound effects
