RoboCop 3 for Genesis
Review #4483
RoboCop 3
Peter Weller is...the minute man
Gameplay
Stupidly hard. Nearly impossible to avoid enemy fire.
Walk like a tank which I guess is authentic to the movie and character
You run out of ammo quickly and then you're a sitting duck
An enemy that looks like R2D2 is too low to hit and it shoots homing missiles at you. Discovered that a 3 way gun powerup allowed me to kill it.
Moves a bit slower than SNES version.
Level Design
Robocop curse - walk right. Slowly
Enemies basically can't be avoided and they shoot before you see them. Just walk forward a couple steps, shoot a perp, then walk some more.
Can't get to the end of the first level because of the . Two bikers come along who can't be killed and the bikes plow thru you dealing damage every frame which kills you. Even if you make it past there isn't enough time to complete a level.
Theme
Robot make things go boom
Art Style
Decent graphics
Nice big sprites
Much darker and grainier than the SNES version
Audio
Altogether bad sound
Music is just a few chirps. Not much of a composition.
Sounds worse than SNES version
