Gameplay

Significantly better than the first game, but still not even close to good. You've got way more hit points but you're still a damaged sponge with enemies pouring out constantly. They move so fast and your attack is so slow that they're unavoidable. Actually your attack is much better. It's basically the weapon from Rygar. You can pick up a couple other weapons but they're single use so they're useless. I finally gave up and use the game genie to gain invincibility so I could see more than a couple screens. The jump and turn animations are still way too long and your jumps too short to be any good anyway. With better enemy placement and AI the game might be playable but this is still a terrible game.

Level Design

Maybe I'm missing something but even with invincibility, I couldn't complete more than 15 minutes worth of this game. After going right for 5 minutes I reached a boss which is a clone of the worm from R-Type. I fought him for a good 10 minutes straight but he never died so I don't even know if I was hurting him. I lost interest in turn the dumb thing off.

Theme

This time you're a caveman fighting other cavemen and some monsters. There's still no story but there's a bit more promise here than the first game. Not much more, mind you.

Art Style

The sprites are better drawn and animated but still aren't appealing. The backgrounds have far less detail than the original.

Audio

Much improved music although every track is about the same. It has this constant metallic hum that gets annoying quickly. Minimal sounds.
