Gameplay Notes:
Horrible lag. I swear the game doesn't care which buttons I press. It's gonna ignore them no matter what I do. Meanwhile your opponent is absolutely button mashing so even if you do get close, your opponent will get in two hits for every one that you land. The only way I could score win was by jump kicking repeatedly and exclusively. Jumping is way too fast. Weird mechanic where you have to manually turn yourself around. And when you get up after falling you are always turned away from your opponent. This allows them to come in for extra cheap hits. Only one playable character. He has no special moves that I could find.
Level Design Score: 1
Level Design Notes:
The game design is weird. It's a career mode where you have three lives and between fights you have to pay to recover health and/or upgrade your attack power.
Theme Score: 1
Theme Notes:
It's Mortal Kombat. I don't know which game came first, but it's the same thing, right down to a fatality at the end of each fight. The fight master is a Jabba the Hut clone. He taunts you between fights. Weird
Art Style Score: 2
Art Style Notes:
The sprites are well drawn and animated. They're not my cup of tea but credit where it's due. The boackgrounds, however, are drab and boring.
Audio Score: 1
Audio Notes:
Music is very soft and basically just white noise anyway. The sounds are ok.
