Gameplay

The swordplay in this game is reminiscent of the Zelda series, with straightforward magical attacks accompanying it. The wide range of the sword makes it easy to connect with your target. The controls are very responsive and satisfying to use. There are some basic RPG elements, such as experience points and equipment, but the gameplay and structure are kept simple.

Level Design

The game has an intriguing system where you defeat enemies in one area to cause people and places in the overworld to awaken. It gives the rather-mundane combat an actual purpose. Although there is some backtracking, it's simple enough to figure out where you need to go.
Each of the six biomes has a distinct look and feel to them. They range from a forest, to an underwater ocean, to a cloud city. One of them is a haunted house with talking doors, chairs, and a miniature toy village!

Theme

Typical Zelda clone. Weird concepts like saving animals and a mad scientist serving an evil king. Strangeness makes the whole story memorable

Art Style

Nice early SNES graphics. Good sprites. Simple but effective

Audio

Actraiser sound effects. Gotta love that stuff. The music, on the other hand, is a mixed bag. A few songs are great but an equal number of them are truly awful.
