Spectre for SNES

Image: MobyGames

Spectre

Battlezone meets Air Hockey

Genre: shooter - fps

Publisher: Cybersoft

Year: 1994

System: SNES

Gameplay Score: 1

Gameplay Notes:

Limited ammo and jumps so you mostly just run up until you see a flag on the map which doesn't have enemies around it. Enemies get faster as you go and chase you while shooting. No strafing so impossible to avoid most shots. Incredibly repetitive Very slippery physics, like you're controlling the puck on an Air Hockey table

Level Design Score: 0

Level Design Notes:

What level design? It's just an open, flat arena with no walls. Objective is to capture 4 flags on a series of identical playing fields.

Theme Score: 1

Theme Notes:

Art Style Score: 1

Art Style Notes:

Ugly polygons. At least it uses the entire screen, unlike Faceball and Doom.

Audio Score: 1

Audio Notes:

The only music track is a slow Tourian wannabe clearly inspired by Super Metroid.

Overall Score: 15

Review ID: 515
