Aoki Densetsu Shoot!
The anime oneGenre: sports - soccer
Publisher: KSS
Year: 1994
System: SFC
Gameplay Score: 2
Gameplay Notes:
Weird combination of good movement and easy passing with dumb AI but impenetrable goalies. This adds up to constant offense but few goals. I complain a lot about soccer games that are too hard, but this one is too easy, even if scoring is nearly impossible.
Level Design Score: 2
Level Design Notes:
Lots of modes but they're hidden behind a wall of Japanese text.
Theme Score: 1
Theme Notes:
Anime heads pop up to yell at when when certain triggers happen during gameplay. It's weird but charming. However, the complete lack of any English makes it hard to figure out how to start a match.
Art Style Score: 2
Art Style Notes:
The field and sprites are both subpar. There's a strong visual language with indicators for which player you're controlling or will pass to, but that's the only positive here.
Audio Score: 2
Audio Notes:
Music plays continuously, which makes sense given the anime theme. It's not a catchy tune tho
Overall Score: 39
