SD Kidou Senshi Gundam: V Sakusen Shidou

Same game, but much harder than the sequel

Genre: action - gun

Publisher: Angel

Year: 1992

System: SFC

Gameplay Score: 3

Gameplay Notes:

I'm playing this after having played and reviewed its sequel. It's amazing how similar the two games are, but also how big of an impact the few small differences between them have upon the gameplay. The two differences between the games are the enemy health (this game has more) and the speed of enemy bullets. Enemies now require multiple hits and fires bullets rapid fire. In the grounded levels it's nearly impossible to avoid taking damage.

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

Same crappy level design as the sequel. In fact, I swear these are the same levels, only with fewer enemies. Terrible

Theme Score: 4

Theme Notes:

SD Gundam

Art Style Score: 3

Art Style Notes:

The graphics might even be better than those in the sequel. They're still mid though

Audio Score: 3

Audio Notes:

The music is pretty boring. It's onyl got one or two channels of long, drawn-out notes. Not very dynamic.

Overall Score: 51
