Takeda Nobuhiro no Super League Soccer for SFC
Review #2399
Takeda Nobuhiro no Super League Soccer
Stop and lob
Gameplay
Movement feels good and each button has an easy to understand action - pass, shoot, lob. Unfortunately passing is a crapshoot since you pass to space rather than to a player. So your opponent is a likely to receive your pass as you are. Th real challenge is that the receiver of a pass always stops to trap the ball before starting to dribble. Their momentum is completely stopped. So the best strategy is to not pass but instead just run around the other team and take a shot. Consequently the best and only way to score is to lob and time a header just right. Not bad but not great either.
Level Design
There are quite a few modes
Theme
Maybe it's got a license but I can't tell. It's feels very generic, with unrecognizable teams.
Art Style
The scaling of sprites looks good, expect for the ball which is way too large while in the air,.making it impossible to tell where it's going.
Audio
Nothing but crowd noise and loud kicks.
