TerseGenre: shooter - horizontal
Publisher: Micronet
Year: 1989
System: MD
Gameplay Score: 3
Gameplay Notes:
Decent mechanics. Three weapons (wave, spread, and crush) that can be upgraded once. Also up to two options which are above and then below the ship Large ship with a big hitbox. Shield allows you to take 4--5 hits before dying. Tons of power ups through each level. Imagine the first few screens of a Gradius level, but that many poweups throughout the level. Easy game.
Level Design Score: 4
Level Design Notes:
Often hard to tell what environmental elements will hurt you. Good enemy waves, environmental hazards, and bosses. No difficulty levels.
Theme Score: 3
Theme Notes:
Drops you right in without even a title screen. Completely non descript.
Art Style Score: 2
Art Style Notes:
The artwork itself isn't terrible but it's bad in motion. It's as if half of the frames are missing. There are some nice effects like parallax scrolling.
Audio Score: 2
Audio Notes:
Dorky music straight out of a 70s sitcom. Terrible sound effects that sound like rain in a tiny roof.
Overall Score: 61
