Daimakaimura
The one where you can shoot upGenre: action - gun
Publisher: NEC
Year: 1990
System: PCE SG
Gameplay Score: 3
Gameplay Notes:
Stiff controls which are the hallmark of this series. You can shoot upward. Yay
Level Design Score: 4
Level Design Notes:
Design is simple but there are still lots of memorable moments and set pieces. The enemy placement feels extremely cheap here, even more so than in other G&G games. Still good but requires memorization more than reaction.

Art Style Notes:
Black background. Love the enemy designs but poor animation and effects take away from the experience. I know it's a product of its time but Super G&G released only a couple of years later and looks lightyears ahead of this title. This might be a hot take but I think this looks better than the Genesis version. The colors pop and sprites are larger and animate better. Check that, I think the sprites are smaller (expect the pigs which are much larger) but feature better detail.
Audio Score: 4
Audio Notes:
Music and sound effects are much better than the Genesis version. Gone are the harsh metallic sounds and the slow pace of the music.
