Dungeon Master

Dumb & Dumber

Genre: rpg - dungeon

Publisher: TTI

Year: 1993

System: TG-16 CD

Gameplay Score: 1

Gameplay Notes:

Same game as D&D Eye of the Beholder but with better controls Spent 25 minutes building a party and picking up food. Finally met a monster and was instantly killed. So, that was fun. Lets you toggle between an onscreen cursor and Move Mode where you use the d-pad and L and R to navigate the dungeon. Much improved, thank you. Still the same boring slogfest Walking into the wall causes damage to your party so you have to carefully count out your steps. This is just plain stupid

Level Design Score: 0

Level Design Notes:

A never ending dungeon. No map

Theme Score: 2

Theme Notes:

Several heroes to choose from. Starting weapons and stats are better than the SNES version. An opening cinematic sets up the adventure, although the Japanese trappings of the cutscene are out of step with the very obvious D&D roots of the game.

Art Style Score: 1

Art Style Notes:

Improved graphics over the SNES version. Still pretty ugly, boring dungeon artwork. 1 FPS animations, if you can even call them that

Audio Score: 2

Audio Notes:

The music is catchy, but you rarely hear it since you just get to hear the ambiance of water dripping in the dank dungeon you're stuck in.

Overall Score: 18
