Image: MobyGames

Fighting Street

Humble beginnings

Genre: fighting - 1v1

Publisher: NEC

Year: 1989

System: TG-16 CD

Gameplay Score: 1

Gameplay Notes:

Where to begin? Horrendous controls. Laggy doesn't beginnto express what it feels like to play this. Nothing that you do with your controller maps to what you see on screen. You'll phase behind your opponent sometimes, or kick right through him, or straight up have nothing happen. It's barely playable as a video game, much less a fighting game.

Level Design Score: 1

Level Design Notes:

Four stages, on playable character.

Theme Score: 3

Theme Notes:

You can see the beginnings of the Capcom character here, but it's an early draft. The post fight taunting, and dynamite on the continue screen are examples.

Art Style Score: 1

Art Style Notes:

Ick. Looks like an early 80s arcade game. Terrible animation.

Audio Score: 2

Audio Notes:

The voices are hilariously bad. Decent music with bad sound

Overall Score: 24

Review ID: 10013
