International Rugby
The one with tiny sprites and breakneck speedGenre: sports - rugby
Publisher: Domark
Year: 1993
System: MD PAL
Gameplay Score: 1
Gameplay Notes:
Plays like the Sensible Soccer games, with their tiny sprites and too fast gameplay. But hey, the speed makes for a far more interesting experience than the slog that is the EA rugby games. It's still impossible to move the ball upfield, so I still hate it, but at least I can do something.
Level Design Score: 1
Level Design Notes:
You can jump in and play a game. That's the extent of the configuration options.
Theme Score: 2
Theme Notes:
Has country named teams and some historical data, I guess. I don't know what a license would even look like for this sport. I like that you can just jump in, although the menus use a cursor which always looks dumb in a console game.
Art Style Score: 2
Art Style Notes:
Tiny sprites that move fast and look silly.
Audio Score: 1
Audio Notes:
Light crowd noise and the occasional whistle being blown. Yawn
