Gameplay

Very responsive controls. Kicks can be directed in whatever direction you choose.
Plays exactly like it's sequel - Championship Soccer '94 but with a true beginners mode that makes it far, far easier to score. Opponent speed is drastically reduced, passing is actually possible, and it's easy to set up plays.
Very fast and frantic gameplay
Still difficult to land a tackle since the sprites are so tiny and the animation takes forever, with a recovery that takes so long your guy is usually off screen before you see him get back up. However, you can basically just walk into the ball carrier to dispossess him, so slides aren't even necessary.

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
