Uses a Gradius style powerup system. Four weapons to choose from plus the most useless option mechanic of all time. Your sprites is already huge but the options become wings protruding to your sides, making you enormous. This is the only way to truly upgrade your weapons. Consequently, the difficulty level is through the roof.

Stage design is built around the difficulty of avoiding enemy projectiles. Enemies fire quickly so killing them quickly is critical. Stages seemingly never end. Way too long.
