Gameplay

One of the better Bubble Bobble clones. This one has slow movement but fast shooting mostly makes up for it. The main problem is the speed of enemies and their penchant for jumping through platforms. This makes the game more frantic than most of its peers.

Level Design

Stages are designed with combat in mind. I appreciated how you can get to the top and throw a snowball to take out multiple enemies. You can even throw yourself to quickly get to the bottom. Good stuff

Theme

You're snowmen with human girlfriends who've been abducted. Ok then. Fun stuff, especially with the awesome intro cutscene.

Looks great for one of these games. Sprites have shading and some animation.

Not my cup of tea, but the music and sounds are good for this type of game

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
