Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends for SNES
Review #16
Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends
THQ personified
Gameplay
Absolutely horrible controls
Must come to a complete stop before making an attack. Attack is a headbutt with a miniscule range.
Can't attack while jumping so many enemies (birds) cannot be killed.
All the bad marks a western dev has ever had - unreadable hud, floaty controls, poor hit detection, etc. etc.
Level Design
First level is a mountain climb with unintuitive mechanics such as hugging the mountain side and hopping up it, being careful not to move to the right else you don't regrab the side and instead fall to your death.
Tiny platforms make progress nigh impossible due to super floaty controls
Enemies can't be avoided.
Theme
Ok I guess? The cartoon was funny so, whatever.
Art Style
Nice colors and large sprites but NES quality animation
True to the show, but terrible execution overall
Audio
Horrendous. Bad. Terrible music
Sounds are horns and honks instead of beeps and boops. Might be true to the show but not fun to listen to while you play.
