Gameplay

Laggy controls and terrible special moves. I couldn't get any to work but they would do so sporadically if I button mashed. Ultimately, it was a bad experience. The long animations of moves means that everything feels slow. In fact, reminds me of Shaq Fu.

Level Design

The developers went out of their way to provide a lot of modes and tons of customization options. you can fine tune difficulty, play as any of the robots, create a tournament, etc. If only the gameplay were better.

There are ten stages. They have minimal animation in the background, as it's mostly spacecapes (is that a word?) or interiors of space stations. So, not terribly exciting, but some are quite pretty. A few even have environmental hazards, like fire shooting from the ground every so often.

Theme

The most boring mech fighting theme I've ever seen. Actually, Rise of the Robots is far worse, but it's more about robots than mechs. what's missing is anything resembling a human element, as all you ever see are these hungs of metal whacking away at each other.

Art Style

Impressive stuff! The mech designs are meh, but they're well drawn and animate beautifully. The stage backgrounds could use more details, but I'll roudn up on this one.

Audio

The music does not fit the theme at all. It's soft and bouncy - the exact opposite you'd want while watching rock and sock 'm robots.
