Gameplay Notes:
I'm not sure how to even describe this game. Actually, it's easy to describe, but hard to categorize. It's not much of a game, to be honest, since the only interactivity is when you distribute skill points to your robot. So I guess it's a strategy game. You design a robot by allocating the aforementioned points to various stats like I.Q., Speed, Shield, and Attack Range . After that you watch your little guy fight it out with an opponent. That's it. You just watch a fight until it's over.
Level Design Score: 0
Level Design Notes:
There are two modes - Battle and Practice. Battle takes you through a series of fights while Practice lets you fight only one. In Battle your opponent is randomly selected so you can't devise a strategy for an upcoming fight. So it's all up to the RNG gods. What a dumb game.
Theme Score: 4
Theme Notes:
Mechs! It reminds me of Robot Wars, Robotrek, and the bot fighting in Big Hero 6.
Art Style Score: 2
Art Style Notes:
The robots are all cute, chunky, squashed sprites. The arenas are unimpressive without any obstacles or other environmental elements. Not much to see here.
Audio Score: 4
Audio Notes:
I love the music. It's reminiscent of songs from Blaster Master and Metal Storm on the NES.
