ESPN Baseball Tonight for SNES
Review #160
ESPN Baseball Tonight
Good luck getting an out
Gameplay
View is behind plate and doesn't shift when ball is in play. Impossible to field.
Throws travel incredibly slow
Enemy AI is incredibly stupid. They never chase down or even throw when you retreat to a base, like if you tried to stretch a double to a triple but bailed and ran back to 2nd. If you have two players on base you can advance them every time and in some cases score one without a throw. Totally stupid
Virtually no time to swing so you have to commit almost immediately
Level Design
Only exhibition and home run derby modes. No season?!
Theme
MLB but no MLBPA license
Team stats make no sense and even seem punitive to certain teams. For example, the Mariners have a left handed CF batting 3rd who has a BA of .227 with 1 hr. Uhh, ok
Art Style
Great animation
Players look weird. A bit unnatural in their movement
Audio
Decent sound with ok sound bites of Chris Berman
