Lethal Enforcers for Genesis
Review #4312
Lethal Enforcers
Hogan's Alley sequel / Time Crisis prequel
Gameplay
The key to this game's success is the generous hitboxes of enemies. The gameplay itself is as simple as could be - shoot enemies and don't hit innocent bystanders. Oh and shoot the bad guys quickly before they can get off their shot.
It's incredibly simple and as a result has almost no replayability but it'll hold your interest for 20 minutes.
The reload mechanic is surprisingly fun and give the game some much-needed depth. It's something to do anyway. Reminds me of the much-better Time Crisis games that came a few years later. I remember loving that game.
Level Design
Simple scroll-to-the-right gameplay. Enemies pop up or roll into the frame in consistent spots so memorize the level and you can win every time. The lack of randomness is the game's greatest weakness.
Theme
You're Dirty Harry. Pretty simple premise.
Art Style
Digitized sprites are extremely ugly. Graphics are even more washed out than the SNES version.
Audio
Sound takes a massive dip in quality from the SNES version. Terrible
